Sensing the City (DK – IT – UK – HU)
We will continue our multi-year project with further artistic actions and interdisciplinary discussions about the question of what kind of connection there is between art and environmental sustainability.
Our Sensing the City program, launched in 2021 and curated by Éva Bubla artist-activist, will continue this year with further discussions between artists and experts from non-artistic fields about how to approach the connection between art and the idea of environmental sustainability. This year the organisers invited four foreign and one Hungarian artist to Budapest to take part in a common artistic research and exploration project in which they will be able touch upon how art can aid in sensitizing people to environmental problems and finding ecological approaches and answers to them, while also tackling the topic of the mutually inspirational relationship between art and science. The invited artists from Denmark, Italy, Great Britain and Hungary will share the results of their five day residency with the audience during PLACCC 2022, either in the form of a participative workshop or as a discussion with an expert from the relevant field.
