Going Visiting workshop by Nana Francisca Schottländer (DK)

PLACCC Festival is organising a workshop titled Going Visiting by Nana Francisca Schottländer (DK) on September 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the framework of its Sensing the City program, which focuses on the relationship between art and environmental issues. The central element of the work of the Copenhagen-based artist is that she uses her own body as a living instrument of investigation and creation. Her projects span choreographic works, performative installations, choreographed events, video works, exposed inhabitations, spatial installations, text, sound and performative interventions in public spaces.

The works are often formed in ongoing serial explorations of particular themes: Each work series has its own logic, strategies and aesthetics and is deeply rooted in both theory, literature, locational awareness and personal material.
On Népsziget, she continues her artistic research mainly along the themes of stones, waterfront and river.
During the workshop, participants gain insight into the creative process of the Danish artist and participate in her research during the residency program, the result of which will later be a site-specific performance within the frame of the PLACCC Festival.

The workshop is recommended for artists from both the performing and visual fields, although an artistic background is not a requirement.
The workshop is held in English, an interpreter is provided upon request.
Participants are recommended to wear comfortable clothing in which they can move (run, climb, lie down on the ground) and don’t mind getting dirty.

Time: 10AM to 1.30PM, 3 September 2022
Meeting point: in front of Vasmacska Halsütöde (1046 Budapest, Zsilip u. 90.)

Participation is free, but registration needed.
