A város hangja egy multidiszciplináris projekt, amely vegyíti egymással a képzeletet és a reflexiót, az emlékezetet és az értelmezést. A projekt városi narratívákat és a mindennapi élet szubjektív érzékelését veszi alapul. /// Please scroll down for English /// Az alkotók 2017 óta jártak Tbilisziben (Grúzia), Athénben (Görögország), Finnország dél-nyugati részén, a francia-belga határ környékén (többek között Lille-ben, Kortrijk-ben, Tournais-ben és Armentières-ben), az anglai Észak-Devonban, Brüsszelben (Belgium) és Drezdában (Németország). A kiállítás egy város köré épít narratívát – ami a valóságban több város, valós és képzeletbeli városok kombinációja –, és megszólaltatja annak lakosait. Megmutatja ennek az új városnak a történelmét, valamint a lehetséges jövőjét, bizonyos értelemben lehetővé teszi a látogató számára, hogy visszatekintsen a jövőbe. 2019 februárjában Mark Etchells és Nada Gambier tíz napot tölt Csepelen, azt kutatva, hogyan változott meg az ottani élet az évek alatt, hogyan befolyásolta az ipari tevékenységek zsugorodása az itt élő emberek életét és milyen új, pozitív vagy negatív távlatok jelentek meg számukra. Milyen jövőbeli forgatókönyveket képzelnek el, gondolnak ki, terveznek el és vitatnak meg? Az alkotók célja, hogy jobban megértsék a jelenlegi helyzetet, és feltárják azokat a lehetőségeket, amelyek segíthetik az ott lakókat abban, hogy egy olyan helyet teremtsenek, ahol valóban élni szeretnének. A The Voice of a City 2017-19 évben projekttámogatásban részesült a Flamand Kulturális Minisztériumtól. Kiállítás megtekinthető: Finisszázs / záró beszélgetés: Február 26. 18.00 *** THE VOICE OF A CITY The Voice of a City is a multi-disciplinary project that travels between imagination and reflection, memory and interpretation. A project based on urban narratives and subjective perceptions on everyday life. Since 2017 the project has travelled to Tbilisi (Georgia), Athens (Greece), the Southwest of Finland, several locations around the French/ Belgian border (among others Lille, Kortrijk, Tournais and Armentières), North Devon in the UK, Brussels (Belgium) and Dresden (Germany). The exhibition is built as a narrative around a city – that in reality is a combination of many cities, both real and imaginary – and its inhabitants. It shows this new city’s history as well as its predicted future offering the visitor, in some sense, the possibility to look back at the future. In February 2019 Mark Etchells and Nada Gambier spend ten days in the Csepel district in Budapest, researching how life has changed there over the years and how the decrease of the industrial activities has influenced people’s lives and what new, both positive and negative, prospects there are for them now. What kind of future scenarios can be dreamt up, thought of, planned and discussed? Their intention being to better understand the current climate and what the possibilities are for empowering the locals to create the city they need and want to live in.
