Egyszerre bensőséges koreográfia, a résztvevőt átölelő hang kompozíció és városi meditáció. A ‘Mandala’ arra keresi a választ, hogy miként létezünk és létesítünk kapcsolatot amikor nem maradt más csak sétálni.
A Boráros téren életre hívott előadás egy olyan kollektív mozgás és hang koreográfia megteremtésére invitálja a résztvevő nézőket, amely egyszerre képes teremteni elmélyült jelenlétet és kísérel meg reflektálni arra, hogy hogyan élünk és lépünk interakcióba egymással egy modern urbánus térben.
A darab kezdete előtt minden néző kap egy sor egyszerű instrukciót, egy a teren keresztül vezető útvonalat és egy hangszórót, amely az előadás zenéjét tartalmazza. A résztvevők az előadás során ezeket az útvonalakat követve, a hangokat körbe hordozva együtt teremtik meg a darab egyedi hang és tér élményét, interakcióba lépve a város terével.

A darab első színházi térben játszódó verziója idén tavasszal lett bemutatva az oxfordi Audiograft Festival pályázatának nyerteseként. A darab előadásra került többek között a londoni We Are Now fesztiválon, a berlini Montag Modus performansz sorozat, illetve a Sao Paolo-i Festival Internacional de Musica Experimental részeként, valamint 2. helyezést ért el az olaszországi Verbániában megrendezésre került II. CROSS International Performance Award-on.

Somló Dávid egy Londonból frissen hazaköltözött interdiszciplináris alkotó. Munkáiban az emberi interakció fontos, apró mozzanatait és a fizikai, társas és személyes tér kapcsolatait kutatja. Gyakran készít helyspecifikus előadásokat, tavaly az UH fesztivál keretében a Bulcsó utcai alagútban és több metró aluljárórban készített több hangszórós intervenciót.

Part immersive sound composition, part spontaneous choreography, part urban meditation, Mandala asks how we might exist and interact with each other when there is nothing to do but walk.

The performance will be held at Boráros tér and invites audience members to put together a collective choreography of sound and movement, creating a strong sense of presence and playfully examining how we exist and interact with each other in a modern urban environment.

Prior to the performance all participants will be given a simple set of instructions. A specific path will be demarcated on the ground, with a portable speaker playing the music of the performance. Following these pathways and carrying around the sounds themselves, a unique sound and spatial experience of the performance will be created when participants interact with the urban space.

The theatre version of Mandala was commissioned and premiered at Audiograft Festival, Oxford and the finalist of the international Cross Awards, Italy. Further performances include Montag Modus Series (GER), NOW’16 Festival (UK) and FIME (BR).

SOMLÓ David is a Hungarian interdisciplinary artist currently based in London. In his performance practice he is interested in the small, important moments of human interactions and in exploring the relationship between the physical, the social and personal space through sound and movement. He composes situations which offer a complex, non-repeating outcome from simple elements, structures and instructions.
