Richard Wiesner-t leginkább poszt-konceptualista szobrászként jellemezhetnénk, érdeklődése középpontjában pedig elsősorban a kiüresedő, hanyatló tárgyak és szimbólumok állnak, amelyek felfedik, egyszersmind meghatározzák a jelenkor valódi állapotát. Ugyanakkor Wiesner művészetét egyfajta eredeti szobrászati megközelítés és sajátos humor jellemzi, ami egy erős társadalmi tudatossággal is összekapcsolódik.
Wiesner egyik legfrissebb projektje, amelynek lakonikus címe az Európai Unió tagállamainak számára utal, korábbi munkáinak lényegéből merít, amikor bizonyos szimbólumok üres fellengzősségre és abszurditására világít rá.

Richard Wiesner, whom we could describe as a post-conceptual sculptor, is especially interested in bleached-out and decaying objects and symbols which show and determine the real state of our present. However, he still retains an original sculptural gesture and a dry sense of humor that glosses on the apparent constants of our social consciousness.
Wiesner’s recent project, laconically named Twenty-Eight according to the number of states of the European Union, builds on the essence of many of his previous works: the empty pompousness and absurdity of the symbols of our common existence.

The program is realised in frame of In Situ ACT. In Situ ACT is co-funded by the Creative Europe Programme of the European Union.
