PLACCC 2018 / Test és technológia

A PLACCC Fesztivál 2018-ban – akárcsak az elmúlt 10 évben – köztéren és különleges helyszíneken valósít meg művészeti eseményeket. Idén a programok a test és technológia hívószavak köré épülnek fel, a fesztiválon ezért többségében táncelőadások, valamint az új technológiákból merítő projektek szerepelnek. /// Please scroll down for English! ///

A Shapers c. köztéri táncelőadás négy ország (Franciaország, Spanyolország, Egyiptom és Marokkó) táncművészeinek együttműködésében, a francia Ex Nihilo társulat koreográfusainak rendezésében valósult meg. Az előadást szakmai beszélgetés követi külföldi és magyar táncművészek részvételével, az L1danceFest társszervezésében.

Marco BAROTTI The Woodpeckers c. projektjében a köztéren „elkapott” mobilfrekvenciák irányítják a “techno-harkályok” kopogását, a Studio Nomad hanginstallációjában pedig a járókelők mozgása komponál egy dallamot. Az installációk sorát Richard Wiesner cseh képzőművész Huszonnyolc c. köztéri munkája teszi teljessé.

A PLACCC mindig is nagy hangsúlyt fektetett a fiatal művészek bemutatására. 2018-ban három fiatal magyar társulattal is dolgozunk: a Ziggurat Project egy rendhagyó helyszínen mutatja be helyszínspecifikus táncprodukcióját, míg a Meetlab a digitális módon kiterjesztett valóság és a hagyományos történetmesélés mezsgyéjén egyensúlyoz előadásával. SOMLÓ Dávid és VASS Imre pedig a nézői testtudattal, tér- és időérzékeléssel kísérleteznek ismétlésen alapuló performanszukban.

Idén két egyetemmel is együtt dolgozunk: a budapesti Magyar Képzőművészeti Egyetem látványtervező hallgatói, valamint a prágai DAMU (Előadó-művészeti Egyetem) alternatív és bábszínház szakos diákjai Cristina MALDONADO Prágában élő mexikói művész vezetésével hozták létre videóinstallációkból álló performatív „ikerkiállításukat”.

Ugyancsak a fesztivál keretében kerül sor a PLACCC és norvég partnere, a Scenekunst Østfold együttműködésében 2017-ben megvalósított PICTURE Budapest-Østfold projektről készült film bemutatójára.

PLACCC 2018 / Body and Technology

In 2018 PLACCC will continue its work of the last 10 years and once again host site-specific artistic events in public spaces and at unique venues. The keywords of the festival this year are body and technology, which is why the programme will mainly consist of dance productions and projects based on new technologies.

Shapers is a public space dance performance, the joint production of dance artists from four different countries (France, Spin, Egypt and Morocco), directed by choreographers from the French Ex Nihilo company. The performance will be followed by an artist’s talk organized by L1danceFest, with foreign and Hungarian dance artists in attendance.

Marco BAROTTI’s project titled The Woodpeckers will consist of multiple “techno-woodpeckers” that react to the mobile frequencies “captured” in the public space, while in case of the sound installation by Studio Nomad the movements of passers-by compose a melody. Twenty-Eight, a work in public space by the Czech visual artist Richard Wiesner will complete the selection of installations presented in frame of Placcc 2018.

PLACCC has always aimed to introduce new, young artists. In 2018 we will be working with three young Hungarian companies: Ziggurat Project will create a site-specific dance piece at an unusual venue, while Meetlab’s performance will try to find where a digitally augmented reality and traditional storytelling can find common ground. SOMLÓ Dávid and VASS Imre will experiment with audience members’ sense of body, space and time in their repetition-based performance.

This year we will also work together with two universities: led by Prague-based Mexican artist Cristina MALDONADO scenography students from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in Budapest and alternative and puppet theatre students from DAMU (Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts) in Prague will work together to create a performative “twin installation” made up of various smaller video installations.

Also, as a part of the cooperation between PLACCC and its Norwegian partner Scenekunst Østfold, the premier of the film introducing and documenting the joint PICTURE Budapest-Østfold Project of 2017 is also planned during this year’s festival.
