DoN’t Eat Group is an independent art laboratory that was founded in 2006, and is led by video- and multimedia artist JUHÁSZ András. With their audiovisual and intermedial project Loop Event they attempt to capture the impressions left behind in the „human spaces” of our everyday urban landscape. They do this by capturing live footage of certain parts of the cityscape, then editing and connecting these images into a repetative loop sequence in real-time. With the help of this new audiovisual material you can get a glimpse into the very „essence” of various parts of Budapest, into the lives of its residents, while experiencing the passage of time in a new way.

With their audiovisual and intermedial project Remixing the CityLoop Event they attempt to capture the impressions left behind in the „human spaces” of our modern, everyday urban landscape. You can view the installation on screens set up in different public areas, where the installation itself is created via a live visual and sound feed. Videocameras capture the live footage of certain parts of the cityscape, then the artists edit and connect these images into a repetative loop sequence in real-time. The sound feed is also generated from clips recorded in that part of the city, and is added to the live video feed along with excerpts of music and other noises. Everyday during the three day project you can get a glimpse into a different part of the city, into the very „essence” of Budapest. The randomly assigned audio feed also allows you to experience the passag e of time in a new way, and to learn more about the people living and working in various emblematic parts of the Hungarian capital.

The installations can be viewed free of charge.
